Food Service Manager Responsibilities

Develops, implements and maintains the quality improvement program for the department in compliance with sanitation, health department and federal regulations for the kitchens on our Becker and Sauk Rapids campuses which serves our clients in our independent apartments and assisted living areas.
Oversees the ordering of all supplies and food, ensures delivery, and maintains adequate inventory for Good Shepherd Community Outreach Services
Directs the dietary preparation and service of meals for tenants and special functions
Coordinates meeting of nutritional needs for tenants in conjunction with a Registered Dietician
Maintains accurate and timely dietary forms and records including policies and procedures
Assists Program Director with developing and managing the approved budget for the department
Oversees production and preparation of food for Home Delivered Meals community clients
Hire, orient and supervise staff
Works on a flexible schedule to meet departmental needs
Prepares meals and menus as directed by registered dietician
Prepares production reports
Serves food, maintaining a high degree of accuracy
Records the temperature of all food products
Works cooperatively with other departments, tenants, families and staff to fill expressed needs
Develops and accomplishes goals and objectives for the department annually
Oversees cleaning of kitchen and dining room

Food Service Manager Qualifications

Supervisory experience required
Requires a Minnesota Food Manager Certificate
Must be able to communicate both verbally and in writing
Previous experience in food preparation and serving required
Ability to work as a team member and resolve problem situations constructively
Experience in health care and working with seniors preferred
Three to five years of current knowledge of nutrition, food handling procedures and large quantity food preparation and delivery
Experience working with seniors preferred
